ASCC - NSX

ASCC = NSX TOURING CONCEPT

The ASCC (Advanced sports car concept) was featured at the NAIAS for ACURA. Much of ACURA'S current design language was derived from this concept’s juxtaposed surfaces coined ‘KEEN-EDGE’. There is an undulation between traditional soft/muscular surfaces and more modern twisting swaths. The interplay creates and exciting new surface language in the automotive space. Painting the car in a matte metallic silver was risky, but helped highlight the concept.

 It is always risky taking something beloved, like the original NSX, and fundamentally altering its drivetrain. This was a polarizing decision, but a brave one made by ACURA for a host of reasons. Subsequently, ACURA has released a new production NSX

It is always risky taking something beloved, like the original NSX, and fundamentally altering its drivetrain. This was a polarizing decision, but a brave one made by ACURA for a host of reasons. Subsequently, ACURA has released a new production NSX with an advanced midship hybrid powertrain. Many of the design elements from this car have been applied to other Honda products - most notably the Civic and production NSX.
